I finally took a picture of our Christmas tree but its not a very good picture so I'm sorry. But here it is.

We had the Twitchell family Christmas party which was a delight. There was tons of good food and we played the white elephant gift exchange. Everyone had good gifts this year so there wasn't much trading. It was very fun to be with everyone.

Bestest freakin cousins ever! (and the dogs)

Last week I had to go to Phoenix for work. Chad is out of school and football so he was able to come with me. The drive down there was the most bizarre weather I have ever seen in my life. We had perfectly good weather until we got to Vegas. It started snaining (that means a mixture of snow and rain - hence snain.) Just outside of Henderson it started to actually snow and stick on the roads. It snowed all the way to Kingman, AZ. The roads were horrible because they don't have any snow plows in that area. There was like 8 inches of snow on the road and it was very slick. It was just so weird to be out in the desert and have it snowing. After Kingman the snow turned into heavy heavy rain. We kept hydroplaning because there was so much water on the roads. It rained all the way to Glendale. So our supposedly 7 hour drive took us 11 hours because of the crazy weather. Once we finally got there we had a great time. Our hotel was right by the Arizona hockey and football stadiums so thursday night we went to a professional hockey game. It was funny because we went over to see how much the tickets were and a guy just came up to us and handed us two tickets. So we got in for free. Neither of us had been to hockey game before and we really enjoyed it.

Friday night we went to dinner and did some last minute Christmas shopping. Saturday we went to Mesa to visit Chad's brother David and his cute little family. We did some shopping and went to dinner with them. Afterwards we went and saw the lights at the Mesa Temple. It was so pretty and fun to see that temple in real life.

This is Chad, David, Mckenna, Juli, and Kyle while we were watching some singers perform at the temple. McKenna really wanted to watch them. They are adorable kids. We went to church with them on sunday and drove home after that. It was such a fun weekend. We had tons of fun with David and Juli. I wish they lived closer.

Monday night we had Christmas eve with Chad's family because we are spending Christmas with my family but we still wanted to celebrate all of the traditions with Chad's family as well. We ate a delicious steak and shrimp meal and afterwards played chimes. I love this tradition in his family. His grandma figured out all of the notes and they have done this for years. We played all kinds of Christmas songs.

The next activity was making Gingerbread Houses. That was another really fun tradition they do.
